By profession, Stefan is a duly qualified and practising lawyer with a Master of Laws degree in International Maritime Law, a Magister Juris in EU Commercial Law and over 25 years’ experience in the FinServ industry. Stefan has been professionally involved in Internal Controls in several FinServ Industry sectors and, more recently, also in the Gaming Industry; bridging both a first-person involvement and an indirect consultant/external advisor role. He has served on the Boards of Associations in Malta, including the Financial Institutions of Malta Association/FIMA, of which he is the honorary chair, and manages the Malta Compliance Officers’ Forum/MCOF network. Currently, Stefan is Regulatory Director at Merkur Group in Germany and also provides advisory services on Internal Controls for FinServ and FinTech licensed entities; he also serves as Board Director for both Gambling and FinServ licensed entities operating.
