Kurt Steinkamp has served the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) since 2011, holding a variety of leadership roles, including Deputy Director of Licensing & Investigation. He currently serves as Chief of Staff.
Steinkamp brings extensive experience in gaming regulation, with oversight responsibilities spanning commercial casinos, internet gaming, sports betting, fantasy contests, charitable gaming, horse racing, and tribal gaming. He is particularly dedicated to combating illegal gaming in Michigan and looks forward to sharing key insights from the state’s regulatory journey.
Before joining MGCB, Steinkamp worked in corporate audit, specializing in financial statement fraud, asset misappropriation, corruption, data analysis, and corporate compliance. He holds a degree in accounting from Eastern Michigan University and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, boating, and spending time with his wife and three teenage children.
