Duncan Garvie
Founder,
Betblocker
Duncan Garvie began his career in the gambling sector as an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Official, founding a service that managed disputes on behalf of both the UKGC and MGA.
This work required him to interact with people impacted by gambling harm on a day-to-day basis, and this was the motivation for Duncan to found the charity BetBlocker, to ensure that free anonymous support was available to anyone who needs it.
For the first nine and a half years of BetBlocker’s operation, Duncan led the project in a voluntary capacity. Early in 2026, as demand for the services that the charity provides has skyrocketed, Duncan has stepped down from his role in the ADR space, to dedicate his full attention to supporting the development and growth of the BetBlocker team.
