Caroline Newman is Director of Regulatory Compliance and MLRO at The Pools. She brings over a decade of experience in gambling regulation, governance, anti‑financial crime and safer gambling, with expertise spanning both B2B and B2C environments.
In her role at The Pools, Caroline is responsible for regulatory compliance, governance and risk frameworks, and fulfilling the MLRO function, supporting the business through an increasingly complex and evolving UK regulatory landscape with a strong focus on player protection and sustainable growth.
Prior to joining The Pools, Caroline held senior compliance leadership roles at Entain and Midnite, where she served as Head of Compliance and MLRO at Midnite, and Head of Anti-Financial Crime and MLRO for UK and Ireland at Entain. At Midnite, she was the company’s first dedicated compliance hire, building and embedding the compliance framework from the ground up. In her career, she has also worked at leading B2B suppliers including Playtech, Inspired and Odobo, giving her a broad perspective across the gambling value chain.
Caroline is known for her pragmatic approach to regulation and regularly contributes to industry discussions on regulatory change, governance and building effective compliance cultures.
