Alex Igelman - Esports Entertainment Group

Alex Igelman

CEO, Esports Entertainment Group
Alex A. Igelman, LL.B is a veteran gaming executive, investor, and lawyer with three decades in online gambling and esports. One of the earliest lawyers to focus on internet gaming, Alex was instrumental in the early growth of PartyGaming and PokerStars, advising on strategy and market entry during the sector’s formative years. He also played a role in the creation of Gaming VC (GVC) in 2004—today known as Entain—helping establish foundations that later scaled into a global leader.

Alex is currently Chief Executive Officer of Esports Entertainment Group (EEG), where he has led a turnaround focused on restructuring, streamlining operations, and strengthening the balance sheet, including significant liability reductions and cost savings outlined in shareholder updates.

As a strategic investor, Alex backs differentiated companies at the intersection of esports, data, and wagering. He was an early investor in Picklebet, and he led a strategic investor group (alongside media-tech investor Jeff Sagansky) in Oddin.gg, a provider of AI-driven esports odds and risk solutions.

Previously, Alex founded Esports Capital Corp and helped pioneer North American esports/gaming finance; he also founded Millennial Esports Corp. (later part of Engine Gaming & Media). He earned his LL.B at Osgoode Hall Law School.
